March 19, 2010 - Olimpija adds Lalic
Despite all the financial
trouble, Union Olimpija added Croatian big guy Jure Lalic, with a
contract that will keep him with the Slovenian club for the remainder
of the season. 24-year old and 212cm tall Lalic, comes from Belgian
Champions Charleroi, which he left due to limited playing time. Last
season he averaged 6 points and 2.8 rebounds per game with the Belgian
club.
March 19, 2010 - FMP agrees with Djokic
FMP announced the
signing of Bosko Djokic as new Head Coach. Djokic will replace Vlado
Djurovic who parted ways with the club a few days ago. Bosko Djokic is
coming to FMP from Radnicki Basket. He took over Radnicki in December
and it seems his work was good enough to attract FMP's attention.
Radnicki Basket had a poor start in the Serbian League, but after
Djokic took over, the team managed to avoid relegation. Bosko Djokic is
not a new face in FMP as he led them to the Adriatic league title in
2004.
March 19, 2010 - Benetton close to Markovic
Hemofarm's player
and Serbian International Stefan Markovic is very close to an agreement
with Italy's Benetton, as reported by Sports media. Benetton's home
loss to Cremona for the 21st round of the Italian Championship makes
the playoffs seem more distant as they currently occupy 9th place, thus
some rebuilding efforts start to take place. According to the Italian
media, the first step towards rebuilding the team is the arrival of
Stefan Markovic from Hemofarm.
March 18, 2010 - Plaza renews with Cajasol
The contract of Cajasol's
Head Coach, Joan Plaza was to expire in summer 2011. The club's
officials however seem to appreciate the work that is being done by
Plaza so they offered him an extension until the summer of 2012. Read

March 18, 2010 - Quarterfinal analysis: Maccabi Electra vs. Partizan
A pair of coaching greats,
current and former Aleksander Gomelski Euroleague Coach of the Year
winners Dusko Vujosevic and Pini Gershon, lead Partizan Belgrade and
Maccabi Electra, respectively, into an exciting Quarterfinal Playoffs

March 18, 2010 - Single seats sold out for 2010 Final Four in Paris!
A month and a
half before it starts and with the participating teams still not known,
Euroleague Basketball has announced that all tickets have been sold out
for the 2010 Final Four, which is to be held May 7 to 9 at Palais
Omnisports de Paris-Bercy in Paris, the French capital. Read more here.
March 16, 2010 - Maceo Baston released by Budivelnyk
Maceo Baston, the biggest
singing of Ukrainian club Budivelnyk Kyiv only spent a couple of weeks
at the club before his contract was terminated. Coaching staff of the
team were dissatisfied with the physical condition of a former
Euroleague champion and used the clause in the contract to terminate

Euroleague Basketball is
proud to announce that fans and media experts from around the continent
have chosen 10 great champions and superstars to make up the Euroleague
All-Decade Team: Dejan Bodiroga, Dimitris Diamantidis, J. R. Holden,
Sarunas Jasikevicius, Trajan Langdon, Juan Carlos Navarro, Theo

March 12, 2010 - Partizan On Maccabi in The Top 8!
BC Partizan crew has sailed
in the Euroleague Top 8 seas for the third consecutive year! Barcelona
took their revenge over the Black and Whites, the only team that has
beaten them in this Euroleague, beating them in 'Blaugrana' by the
score 82:64 (22:16, 14:14, 25:12, 21:22). Read more here.
March 12, 2010 - Euroleague Top 16 Week 6 MVP: Romain Sato, Montepaschi Siena
The Top 16 came to an end
with a farewell performance by Romain Sato of Montepaschi Siena being
good enough earn him the MVP honor for Week 6. It marked second time
this season that he won the weekly award. Sato led Montepaschi to a
93-87 home win against Efes Pilsen with 22 points on 6-of-9
two-pointers and 7-of-7 free throws. Read more here.
March 12, 2010 - Euroleague Quarterfinal Playoffs 2010
The road to the
2010 Final Four in Paris saw eight more teams get off at the end of the
Top 16 and only eight remain for the Quarterfinal Playoffs. One of them
will be the new Euroleague champion on May 9. But first they need to

March 11, 2010 - NLB League General Assembly: New basketball rules
The ABA Sidro General
Assembly, which was held in Ljubljana on Monday, 8th of March 2010,
confirmed the latest change of basketball rules, which was announced by
FIBA. The new rules will be in use since the beginning of the 2010/11
season. At the same time it was decided that all basketball halls in
which NLB League games are played should have the minimum capacity of
2.000 seats since the 2010/11 season.
March 10, 2010 - EuroCup Last 16 Game 6 MVP: Marc Salyers, Le Mans
A big performance in a
winning effort to leave the competition in style was required for Marc
Salyers of Le Mans to become the Last 16 Week 6 MVP. Salyers led Le
Mans to a 79-75 home win against Aris BSA 2003 with 25 points on 6-of-9
two-point shooting and 4-of-5 free throws. Read more here.
March 10, 2010 - Hapoel sets Eurocup single-quarter scoring mark
Besides sealing
its ticket to the Quarterfinals on Tuesday night, Hapoel Jerusalem also
set a new Eurocup record for points in one quarter with 44. Hapoel
broke the previous record of 40 set by Dynamo back in 2008 in a regular

March 9, 2010 - 14 clubs also in the future, Nymburk joining the NLB League
The NLB League General
Assembly, which was held in Ljubljana on Monday, finished with some
important decisions. In the upcoming season 2010/11 the league will
count 14 clubs and not 12 as it was previously decided and will also
welcome a newcomer, which doesn't come from the region. The Czech club
Nymburk was given one of three wild-cards for the 2010/11 season.
March 8, 2010 - Euroleague.TV affiliate program starts with Partizan
A new club affiliate program
to attract viewers to Euroleague.TV is being launched this week from
perhaps the hottest fanzone in the basketball world, that of Partizan
Belgrade. The Euroleague club will promote Euroleague.TV with the
incentive of getting a percentage of all sales of subscribers who come

March 5, 2010 - EuroLeague Top 16 Week 5 MVP: Bojan Bogdanovic, Cibona

victory that could yet lead to the playoffs, Cibona Zagreb this week

March 5, 2010 - Tickets on sale for Eurocup Finals!
Tickets for the
Eurocup Finals will go on sale starting on Thursday, March 4 at noon .
This year's edition of the new-format Eurocup Finals will be played in
Vitoria, Spain from April 17 to 18 at the magnificent Fernando Buesa
Arena, which is the home arena of the Euroleague Basketball club Caja
Laboral and has a capacity of 9,342 spectators. Read more here.
March 4, 2010 - Eurocup Last 16 Week 5 MVP: Casey Jacobsen, Brose Baskets
An outstanding performance
leading to a bittersweet victory earned Casey Jacobsen of Brose Baskets
Bamberg the MVP honor for Last 16, Week 5. Jacobsen recorded a
performance index rating of 31 during his team's 84-81 home win over
Panellinios BC, but Brose nonetheless was eliminated because it needed
to win by at least 8 points to keep its Quarterfinals chances alive.

March 4, 2010 - Pepu Hernandez is new DKV Joventut boss
Just the day
after Sito Alonso was dismissed as head coach, DKV Joventut announced
on Thursday that Pepu Hernandez, 52, will be the new head coach of the
team for the remaining of the season and two more campaigns. Read more here.
March 3, 2010 - Turk Telekom tabs NBA veteran Ricky Davis
Turkish side Turk Telekom
strengthened their squad for the most important battles of the season
with the acquisition of a 30-year-old NBA veteran Ricky Davis. During
his 12-year NBA career Davis played for six different teams - Charlotte
Hornets, Miami Heat, Cleveland Cavaliers, Boston Celtics, Minnesotta

March 2, 2010 - Euroleague clubs make Haiti donation
Euroleague
Basketball, Unicaja and UNICEF are proud to announce that following the
social responsibility programme initiative developed during the first
week of the Top 16 in support of the Haiti earthquake victims, a
donation of all the contributions received will be made to UNICEF'S
"Help us to Help Them" campaign before the game Unicaja vs. CSKA Moscow

March 2, 2010 - Maceo Baston signs with Budivelnik Kiev
Ukrainian league leaders
Budivelnik Kiev announced the signing of a 34-year-old veteran
forward-center Maceo Baston. The holder of two Euroleague titles with
Maccabi Tel Aviv has been a free agent since being waived by Detroit
